We Hope It Will Be Signed Next Year: Amirebekov on Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Agreement
2025 will be a historically significant milestone not only for the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia but for the entire South Caucasus region. This was stated by Elchin Amirebekov, the special representative of the Azerbaijani president for special assignments, in an interview with The Holland Times.
“Our countries preliminarily agreed on a peace agreement draft in August. We hope that it can be signed next year. Two weeks ago, the OSCE concluded the process of dissolving the Minsk Group and its associated structures. The Minsk Group has been an ineffective body since 2020. Our goal is to ensure lasting peace between our countries. To achieve this, Armenia's Constitution must be aligned with the preliminarily signed peace agreement. After that, the agreement can be signed and ratified by both sides,” said Elchin Amirebekov.
