Unacceptable Condition of Arami and Buzand Streets: Everything is Dust, Says Khachatur Sukiasyan
I want to express my gratitude to Mr. Arshakyan for discussing the issue that has been quite pressing before us and for the numerous complaints and dissatisfaction surrounding it. You have raised this matter once again. The issue of zoning is crucial; we resemble the Soviet era when it is absent.
This was stated by Khachatur Sukiasyan, a deputy from the ruling Civil Contract faction, during his speech at the National Assembly session.
According to Sukiasyan, all the complaints today are about people not understanding what actions they can take. “Firstly, as a result of zoning, investments will grow exponentially because individuals will know precisely where they are making investments, what revenues they will generate, what challenges they will face, and what competitive sector they will find themselves in,” he said.
“Secondly, deadlines are very important for us. Apparently, we have Arami Street and Buzand Street, which have not been developed for 14 years; there is an owner, but no institution is functioning. There are zoning issues, property owner problems, which is very unacceptable. I propose to the state bodies and to you to bring forward a law that will set deadlines; otherwise, the attractiveness of our country has declined due to this very central issue: dust, dirt, and the incomplete construction give Yerevan a very poor image. It’s progressing slowly, and we need to address these issues quickly.”
