Pashinyan on the Road and Gas Issues in Isolated Settlements and the Complexities of Their Solutions
Currently, we are facing situations related to roads, and there is indeed a problem. The day before, a citizen from one of the communities stated that for the past 20 years, his house has had no road, no gas, and so on. Naturally, I am interested in why a person's house has no gas and how we can help. It turns out that this house is a solitary one, say 5 km away from the main settlement. Yes, it indeed lacks a road and gas.
This was mentioned by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting. He stated, 'Assuming we can allocate 300 million for the road or I don’t know, 100 million or 50 million for the road and 30 million for gas, but it is a problem, as there are unresolved issues in other parts of the community. The community can say, “Wait a minute, but with that 100 million or 20 million, you could have solved another issue such as the general layout, etc.” We emphasize the importance of this. We understand, but the community previously provided the land and construction permits, so how do we solve this issue now? You understand, right? If we invest 150 million for one house, the rest will say it’s at our expense. If we invest 150 million, it’s better to prioritize that house, give the person money, and say, 'Go buy an apartment somewhere else,' which will be cheaper for us.'
