EU to Fund Development of Hypersonic Missile Interceptors

Two different projects for hypersonic missile interceptors are being promoted by German and French companies, according to sources from Euractiv. The publication reports that the European Commission plans to fund only one project aimed at the creation of hypersonic missile interceptors produced within the EU.

Official funding allocation plans are expected to be published this week. According to sources, there is a possibility of a decision to merge the two projects; however, this could lead to other challenges. Specifically, it will be necessary to determine which company will lead the development process.
