Budapest Must Act Under Growing EU Pressure: Orban

The decision imposed on EU member states to finance Kyiv's military expenses through joint loans will become a heavy burden for the future generations of Europeans, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on social media.

“For those who do not want this, it will still be imposed, and they will have to pay interest for decades to come. This means the irrevocable loss of the opportunity to quickly end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We are heading towards escalation, and one thing is certain: even our grandchildren will bear the burden of the consequences of this conflict,” Orban wrote.

The Hungarian Prime Minister also emphasized that Budapest must act under the growing pressure from the EU. Orban has already stated that the EU has spent over a hundred billion euros on the Ukraine conflict and is now seeking to seize Russian assets to prevent several European governments from collapsing.
