Cadastre Committee Issues Statement

Another opportunity awaits. Until December 31, 2026, it will be possible to register existing unauthorized constructions. This was announced by the Cadastre Committee.

“A legislative package regulating the legalization of unauthorized constructions, adopted in 2021, established a prohibition whereby any unauthorized structure built after the law came into effect would no longer be subject to legalization. During the registration period for unauthorized constructions, approximately 70,000 such structures were entered into the Cadastre Committee’s information database,” said Suren Tovmasyan, head of the Cadastre Committee, during a special session of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on State-legal Issues held today, December 15.

Tovmasyan also indicated that aerial photography of the entire territory of Armenia was carried out in 2021 and that these photographs have been integrated into the cadastral map. All of this information is available on the National Geoportal.

The committee head added that a segment of the population had been unable to register their unauthorized constructions for various reasons and that the committee had received numerous applications and complaints, leading to the proposal for new legislative regulation. He urged citizens to immediately consult qualified specialists for registration after the law is adopted and not to wait until the deadline expires,” the statement reads.
