Blizzard in Vardenyats Pass: Situation on Armenia's Roads

The Emergency Situations Service reports that the majority of roads in the Republic of Armenia are generally passable. However, due to ongoing reconstruction work on the road to Koreh Valley and considering the risk of rockfalls, the road has been temporarily closed to traffic since August 19.

Currently, a blizzard is reported in Vardenyats Pass. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Situations Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
