Volgograd Airport Suspends Flights
Volgograd Airport has imposed flight restrictions. This was announced by Rosaviatsiya's press secretary, Artyom Korenyako, on his Telegram channel.
This measure is necessary to ensure the safety of flights. On the night of December 14, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an attack on Russia using 235 unmanned aerial vehicles. The drones were intercepted over 14 regions of Russia. In Uryupinsk, a drone crash caused a fire in an oil storage facility. Volgograd region governor Andrey Bocharov later announced the evacuation of residents from nearby buildings.
Volgograd Airport had previously restricted flights on the night of December 12, halting arrivals and departures for about five hours. During that time, 90 drones were neutralized over Russia, including in the Rostov region adjacent to Volgograd.
