Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Wants to Buy Barcelona for 10 Billion Euros
Spanish journalist Françoise Galliardo reports that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman plans to make a 10 billion euro offer for the Barcelona football club. The prince's interest stems from Saudi Arabia's plans to expand its involvement in global football. In recent years, the kingdom has actively invested in this sport.
The management of the Catalan club has previously stated on multiple occasions that it is not considering privatization. At the same time, Barcelona continues to pay off the debts accumulated during the pandemic. A potential deal could eliminate the club's 2.5 billion euro debt.
Following a 2-0 victory over Osasuna in the 17th round of La Liga, Barcelona solidified its lead in the league table, accumulating 43 points.
