The Road to Upper Lars Reopened for All Vehicles

The road leading to the Upper Lars checkpoint is once again closed to large trucks. This information was provided by the Georgian Road Department.

Due to snowfall and low visibility, restrictions have been imposed on the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway. The road remains open for other vehicles, the statement said.

It should be noted that yesterday, traffic with trailers and semi-trailers was temporarily banned on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars international highway due to weather conditions. This morning, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia announced that the road has been reopened for all types of vehicles.

The military road is the only operational land route connecting Armenia with Russia.
