Over 180 Illegal Immigrants Enter Poland from Belarus via Tunnel

More than 180 illegal migrants have entered Poland from Belarus through a tunnel dug near the village of Narewka, according to the Polish Border Guard. Their officers, along with military personnel and police officers, have detained over 130 of them, while searches for the remaining migrants continue.

“The tunnel, which was several dozen meters long and passed under a fence and a technical road, was approximately 1.5 meters in height. Its entrance, which was hidden in the forest, was located about 50 meters from the Belarusian side of the border, while the exit was about 10 meters from the fence on the Polish side,” said the spokesperson for the Polish Border Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Andrzej Juźwiak.

According to him, electronic surveillance systems have shown that more than 180 foreigners utilized the tunnel in a “short period of time.” The majority of those detained were citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan, while individuals holding passports from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh also entered the country.
