White House Comments on Seizure of Tankers Near Venezuela's Coast

The White House Press Secretary, Carolyn Levitt, announced that the United States simply followed its sanctions laws while seizing a vessel near Venezuela's coast.

"I think President Donald Trump views the seizure of the oil tanker as the implementation of the administration's sanctions policy," she told reporters when asked if the seizure could lead to military conflict.

The Press Secretary also stated that Trump is not interested in a prolonged war in Venezuela. Earlier, it was reported that U.S. forces had seized and taken control of the sanctioned oil tanker near the Venezuelan coast. This information was reported by Bloomberg agency.
