The Issue of Nagorno-Karabakh is Resolved for Armenia and Azerbaijan: Nikol Pashinyan

Nikol Pashinyan stated, "I see that there are consultations being held under the title 'The Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not resolved.' There is some discussion happening in Armenia, and the Azerbaijanis are observing and drawing conclusions. On one hand, we hear our opposition claiming that there is repression in Armenia, that it is a dictatorship. Azerbaijan asks, if it truly is a dictatorship, why isn't the government prohibiting these things? Thus, they imply that they have a hidden agenda, claiming that the Nagorno-Karabakh movement has ended while also urging discussions to continue.

During a conversation with journalists this month in Germany, Pashinyan remarked, "We also ask, why is Azerbaijan financing events and rhetoric regarding 'Western Azerbaijan'? What does it mean that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is unresolved? If the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not resolved, what does that imply? What will happen? Why are you blaming us for the casualties? The continuation of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue means more casualties, new blockades, and so on.

Azerbaijan is observing that there are forces in Armenia advocating for a new war against Azerbaijan. They are suggesting that we need to increase our military budget and adopt a rhetoric regarding 'Western Azerbaijan.' Those who claim the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is unresolved are advocating for a new conflict. We have gone to great lengths for the sake of Karabakh. Yet, along that path, we have opened our eyes. We have understood many things that we did not comprehend before. The Nagorno-Karabakh issue is resolved for Armenia, for Azerbaijan, and for the region as a whole," Pashinyan concluded.
