New Updates on Visa Issuance to Armenian Citizens by Germany: Nikol Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, announced during a meeting with journalists in Hamburg that there are upcoming updates regarding the issuance of visas to Armenian citizens by Germany. According to reports from Germany, Pashinyan noted that the German ambassador to Armenia has confirmed that there will be no queues for obtaining visas.

“We received very important news yesterday in Berlin. The German ambassador to the Republic of Armenia said that starting next year, there will no longer be queues at the German embassy for visa applications,” Pashinyan stated.

The Prime Minister did not provide additional details regarding this matter but emphasized that facilitating the process for Armenian citizens to obtain Schengen visas is on their agenda. He mentioned that they have been working on this issue with their European Union partners for quite some time, highlighting the citizens' concern about having to wait up to 10 months for a visa.

This is the first response from the German embassy in Armenia regarding the situation. He expressed hope that this process would continue to develop positively.

Pashinyan recalled that in recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the tourist flow from Armenia to the EU, despite the difficulties in obtaining visas. The Prime Minister noted that many prefer to travel to cities like Rome, Berlin, and other European destinations during weekends, indicating improvements in this sector and the quality of life of citizens.

As an example, he pointed out that airfare, which once seemed unaffordable due to high costs, is now available in the market for 35 or 50 euros, facilitating more frequent travels to Europe.
