Inmate Transferred to Artik Prison Self-Harms in Protest

Recently, one of the inmates transferred from the Nubarashen penitentiary to the Artik penitentiary, 25-year-old H.S., who is held alone in his cell, has committed self-harm. This act expresses his dissatisfaction with the change of prisons. This information was reported by Aravotam.

On November 13, he was taken to the Gyumri Medical Center with "lacerations on his left forearm" diagnosed, accompanied by the staff of the Artik penitentiary, and it was from there that an alert was sent to the police's operational management center. The young inmate, who is charged with robbery under part 2 of Article 175 of the Armenian Criminal Code, refused to provide police with an explanation regarding the circumstances of his injuries.

However, the senior community policeman of Artik, Aleksanyan, found out that he had broken the washbasin in his cell and harmed himself with the shards, with the reason being his transfer from the Nubarashen penitentiary to the Artik penitentiary.
