62 Fishing Nets Removed from Water Area Near Tsovagyugh

Despite numerous appeals and calls directed at the population to observe fishing regulations, the Eco-Patrol Service has removed 62 fishing nets from the water area bordering the village of Tsovagyugh in the Gegharkunik region. Approximately 20 kg of trout fish were also recovered from these nets. Relevant reports have been filed, and the seized fishing nets will be transferred to a protected area.

The Eco-Patrol Service of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia reminds that according to the government decision No. 865-N dated June 26, 2025, a strict ban on industrial fishing for trout in Lake Sevan will be in effect from November 20, 2025, to February 1, 2026. “Trout fish is a crucial part of the food security of the Republic of Armenia and must be approached with this understanding,” the statement from the Eco-Patrol Service reads.
