This is a major achievement, and we celebrate it: Armen Grigoryan and Hajiyev give a joint interview
The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev and Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan have given a joint exclusive interview to Euronews during an international forum held in Doha, Qatar.
This is the first time that the main negotiators representing the leadership of the two countries have discussed how the peace process between the two former adversaries began and how the two countries continue to “add one more brick to the wall of trust, moving towards active economic cooperation that transforms the Eurasian space.
“This is a major achievement, and we celebrate it,” Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan said in an interview with Euronews. “In all conflicts, the parties do not trust each other. But we are working on it. As the famous song goes, this is yet another brick in the wall, in a positive sense. We are working on this, trying to build this wall of trust, trying to move in this direction,” Grigoryan added.
Hikmet Hajiyev highlighted that the joint peace process is “a success story in the global context of conflicts and wars.” He noted that with the closing of this chapter of conflict and the establishment of real peace on the ground, Azerbaijan and Armenia are jointly embarking on large-scale economic expansion in the region for the common welfare of both countries.
