Armenia and Germany Move to Strategic Partnership Phase - Pashinyan
During a joint press conference with Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the relations between the two countries are transitioning to a strategic partnership phase. "The visit is truly historic as today, the relations between Armenia and Germany are moving to a strategic partnership phase, which was recently documented by the signing of a declaration on the strategic agenda of bilateral partnership between Armenia and Germany. Our countries’ relations are based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law," said Pashinyan.
Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia highly appreciates Germany's continuous support for democratic reforms and sustainable development in Armenia, which was once again reinforced by the results of the intergovernmental negotiations held in Berlin in October. "We discussed the joint steps being taken to expand trade and economic relations between our countries with the Chancellor. Germany is one of Armenia's main trading partners and the first in the European Union, and we are interested in the continued and enhanced development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation," he noted.
The Prime Minister stressed the active cooperation with Germany in the field of education and science, noting with satisfaction that the Tumo Creative Technologies Centers, part of Armenian educational initiatives, are achieving great success in many cities in Germany, providing young people the opportunity to receive technological education in an excellent environment.
It is worth mentioning that today Prime Minister Pashinyan also met with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
