Israel and Qatar Hold Secret Meeting in New York

Israel and Qatar are holding a secret meeting in New York to normalize relations, Axios reports.

The meeting is organized by the White House special envoy, Steve Vitkoff. Israel is represented by Mossad chief David Barnea.

This negotiation marks the first meeting within the framework of a new trilateral mechanism proposed by the United States to resolve disagreements.

The main topic is the implementation of a peace agreement for Gaza, including the disarmament of Hamas.

Relations between Israel and Qatar remain tense following an airstrike by Israel in Doha that resulted in the death of a Qatari security official. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had previously apologized to Doha at Trump's insistence.
