Education in Georgian State Universities Will Be Free from Now On: Kobakhidze

From the 2026 academic year, students admitted to Georgian state universities will no longer have to pay tuition fees. The government will fully cover the funding. This announcement was made by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a press briefing.

“Under our government, preschool education has become free, as has general education, which, as you know, is entirely free. Now, higher education will also become free. Starting from next year and in the years to come, education will be free for all students admitted to state universities. Supporting young people and improving their financial situation is one of our priorities,” Kobakhidze stated.
