Azerbaijan's Expectations from the Peace Process: Bayramov Elaborates

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Callas, during the 32nd session of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council held in Vienna. The discussions focused on regional security issues, the realities shaped by post-conflict situations in the South Caucasus, recent developments, and expectations related to the peace agenda.

Bayramov also met with OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid. During the conversation, they addressed the main directions of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, challenges facing the organization, regional and international security issues, as well as the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It was emphasized that in the face of serious security challenges in Europe, it is crucial to uphold international law, particularly the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders.

Minister Bayramov presented the situation in the region following the conflict, the outcomes of the Washington summit, and Azerbaijan's expectations from the peace process. It was noted that the dissolution of the Minsk Process and its related institutions is essential for enhancing the effectiveness of the OSCE and organizing its activities in a manner that considers regional realities.

Bayramov outlined the agreements reached at the Washington summit, the prospects for peace, and the plans for transport corridors in the region.
