Measures to Encourage Voluntary Certified Teachers to Increase by Approximately 2.16 Billion Drams

Education Minister Zhanna Andreasian, presenting the relevant draft resolution at today’s government meeting, stated that around 8 billion 673 million 771 thousand 400 drams was planned for the encouragement of voluntarily certified teachers in 2025. “We propose to supplement this amount by an additional approximately 2.16 billion drams, which means that more than 10 billion drams will be allocated to the voluntary certification system in 2025,” said Andreasian.

“Since 2018, the teachers' fund has significantly increased compared to 2025, and only the salary fund for teachers has increased by 37 billion drams compared to 2018, which means we have a 67% increase compared to 2018. This year, the voluntary certification system will receive an allocation of 10 billion drams. In the state budget for 2026, more than 20 billion drams will be allocated solely for teacher encouragement programs, meaning that the budget for these programs is double that compared to 2024,” she added.

The minister also emphasized that teachers receiving 700 thousand drams today are a part of our reality. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted, “Certification and its results will lead to additional economic development, which will also bring additional financial tax revenues. It is excluded that this will not happen.”
