Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov characterized the negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Steve Wittkof as useful and constructive. He stated that the content of the documents previously delivered to Moscow was discussed. “We did not consider specific formulations; we addressed the essence of the proposals. President Putin criticized certain points, but the parties agreed to continue working together,” Ushakov noted.

He mentioned that the topic of territories was discussed, without which Moscow sees no resolution to the crisis. “There is still no compromise variant on the issue of territories. However, some of the American proposals seem to be acceptable. But they need to be discussed. Certain formulations are unacceptable. Our American partners will convey Vladimir Putin's greetings and a number of important political signals to Donald Trump,” highlighted the US presidential aide.
