NATO Failed to Disrupt Communications on Ukraine and Resorting to Threats, Says Zakharova

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the remarks by NATO Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cavoli regarding 'preventive strikes' against Russia coincided with the intensification of communications concerning Ukraine. Previously, false alarms had not disrupted communications, and the West has turned to threats.

Cavoli told the Financial Times that a preventive strike could be discussed in light of Russia's alleged actions against the alliance. He argued that 'preventive strikes' could be seen as 'defensive actions.'

'This statement was made precisely at a time when communications aimed at resolving the situation in Ukraine were becoming more active,' Zakharova said during an interview with Sputnik radio.
