Lebanon to Send Representative for Indirect Negotiations with Israel

The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, has appointed lawyer Simon Karam to lead the Lebanese military-technical delegation participating in the meetings of the committee responsible for implementing the ceasefire agreement with Israel, according to a statement from the Lebanese leader's office.

“Following the agreement of the American side to include a civilian representative in its delegation and consultations with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, President Joseph Aoun has decided to appoint former ambassador and lawyer Simon Karam to lead the Lebanese delegation in participating in the meetings of the same committee (the 'Lebanese Military-Technical Committee'),” the statement said.

All relevant parties have been informed, and therefore, Karam is participating in the committee meeting scheduled for today in Nakura, southern Lebanon.
