Former EU High Representative Federica Mogherini Released
Former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, was released today.
Mogherini had been detained by Belgian police in Brussels as part of an investigation into corruption, embezzlement, and various other potential violations within EU institutions.
As previously reported, Belgian law enforcement had arrested the former head of European diplomacy and rector of the College of Europe, Federica Mogherini, on suspicion of fraud. Authorities seized a number of documents and detained at least three individuals, who are accused of potential fraud in public procurement, corruption, and conflict of interest.
