The Presence of Armenian Airlines on the EU 'Blacklist' is Not Related to Political Relations: Kós

The European Union's High Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kós, has stated that the presence of Armenian airlines on the EU's flight safety 'blacklist' is solely due to technical issues. During a meeting with Armenian journalists in Brussels, she emphasized that the process is under the supervision of the EU Flight Safety Committee and that decisions are based only on professional assessments.

"This is a technical process, not a political one. There are certain things that Armenia needs to implement. We are in constant contact with the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee. Since the required steps have not yet been taken, a decision cannot be reached. This has no connection with political relations; we simply want to ensure that the safety issue is fully guaranteed," Kós noted.
