P. Diddy's Lawyers Demand Netflix to Halt Documentary Film

Lawyers for rapper Sean Combs (P. Diddy) have sent an official notice to Netflix demanding the cessation of the release of a new documentary film, claiming that the project has utilized illegally obtained footage.

According to CNN, the documentary titled "Sean Combs: The Definitive Judgment" is produced by rapper and actor Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, who is a long-time rival of Combs.

The rapper’s defense team argues that the project includes "stolen recordings, the distribution of which has never been authorized." The lawyers' statement emphasizes that Netflix and the company's CEO, Ted Sarandos, were aware that Combs had been compiling his own archive since he was 19 years old to independently tell his story.

"The appropriation of that work by Netflix is completely unjust and illegal," the musician's representatives stated.

The contested footage is already included in the official trailer released by Netflix. "We need someone who has worked with us in the dirtiest fields," the rapper says in the video. "We are losing." P. Diddy's representative, Judah Engelmaier, noted that neither Combs, who is currently serving a 4-year sentence, nor his team have yet seen the full film.

Recall that on October 3, a New York court sentenced the rapper to more than 4 years in prison for organizing the transportation of individuals for the purpose of sexual services.
