Former EU Chief Diplomat Federica Mogherini Arrested: AFP
The Belgian police have arrested former head of European diplomacy and rector of the College of Europe, Federica Mogherini, on suspicion of fraud, according to AFP.
Searches were also conducted at the College of Europe in Bruges and several private residences. Law enforcement has seized a number of documents and detained at least three individuals.
They are accused of possible fraud related to public procurements, corruption, and conflict of interest. The investigation is ongoing, and no formal charges have been presented at this time.
