Ukraine's Future Must Be Safer and More Prosperous Than Ever, Rubio
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated after negotiations with a Ukrainian delegation in Miami that the main goal of the process is not only to end the war but also to ensure Ukraine's long-term security and development.
"This is not just a matter of ending the war. We want not only to stop the conflict but also to ensure that Ukraine remains permanently secure and never faces the threat of new invasions again. Equally important is that the country enters a phase of true prosperity. We want the Ukrainian people to emerge from this war not only as a restored nation but also stronger and more prosperous than ever," Rubio emphasized.
According to him, the work being done at this stage is comprehensive. It concerns not only the conditions for a ceasefire but also the foundations that will create opportunities for Ukraine’s long-term progress and prosperity.
"There is still much work to be done, but we had effective and constructive discussions this time, during which I believe we made new progress. We understand how complex this process is, but at the same time, we remain optimistic. Along with the progress, a common vision is forming—this conversation is not just about ending the war, no matter how important that is, but about securing Ukraine's future—one that we hope will be more peaceful and prosperous than ever," Rubio added.
