Cavusoglu Takes on New Role

On July 11, the first session of the Turkish delegation at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Parliamentary Assembly was held in the 28th term of the Turkish Parliament. One of the key items on the agenda was the election of the head of the delegation.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) nominated former foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is also a member of parliament from Antalya. It is reported that Cavusoglu was elected head of the delegation by an overwhelming majority of votes.
