Concerns in Urasar Over Forest Fire Spreading to Surrounding Forests
Residents in the Urasar community of Lori Province are worried that a fire that started in grassy areas may spread to the surrounding forests. According to the information provided to NEWS.am by the community, the blaze began in Shirak, continued towards Spitak, and then reached the villages of Urasar and Katnaghbyur. They stated, 'The fire is under control, but the concern is that it does not get close to the forests.'
Currently, a large number of rescuers, eco-patrol members, military personnel, locals, and volunteers are working to extinguish the fire. It was noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations had received information about smoke observed between Urasar and Katnaghbyur on November 29 at 18:59, and it was determined that a grassy area was on fire.
On November 30, a large number of firefighting forces, eco-patrol members, volunteers from the 'Lori' team, and residents are involved in the firefighting efforts.
