Georg Papoyan Shares Details About His Visit to Turkey and Discussed Issues
Economy Minister Georg Papoyan wrote on Facebook: “I met with Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli in Istanbul. We emphasized the importance of regular Armenia-Turkey communications and reaffirmed our readiness to continue the dialogue.
On his part, the Turkish minister praised the recent visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Turkey, highlighting its positive influence on the development of bilateral relations.
We discussed the possibilities for reopening the Kars-Gyumri railway connection, as well as the new economic, logistical, and trade opportunities arising through the TRIP program for both countries. During the conversation, we touched upon the potential for market diversification, the formation of new logistical routes, and the expansion of mutual economic interests.
Questions about cooperation in the agricultural sector were also addressed, particularly in relation to agricultural insurance, joint efforts against hail damage, and combating animal diseases.
