Director of Yerevan Metro Submits Resignation

Today, the director of the Yerevan Karen Demirchyan Metropolitan, Paylak Yaloyan, submitted his resignation. This was stated by the metro's press secretary, Tatev Khachatryan, in a conversation with "Haykakan Zhamanak."

Khachatryan noted that Yaloyan submitted his application voluntarily. "He has worked for 28 years, has not taken any vacation in the last four years, and decided to retire upon reaching the retirement age," she said.

In response to the media's inquiry about whether this resignation is connected to NSS investigations, Khachatryan denied, stating that Yaloyan had announced in internal discussions that he would leave his position as soon as he reached retirement age.

It is noteworthy that in March, HJ reported, citing its sources, that the NSS had uncovered significant abuses within the metro. The NSS later confirmed in our conversation that a criminal case has been initiated and an investigation is underway.
