New Details on the Louvre Heist

The French newspaper Le Parisien reports new details about the investigation into the Louvre heist, including information regarding the alleged organizers.

One of the suspects admitted during questioning that he received a job offer from two men who spoke with a "Slavic accent." The men proposed €15,000 for carrying out the theft, though they did not specify that the location was the Louvre.

Police remain skeptical of these claims but are considering all options, including the possibility of the crime being commissioned.

Information regarding the arrests of all four alleged criminals came to light on November 25. The fourth individual, who is believed to have fled with the stolen goods (valued at €88 million), is accused of theft as part of an organized group and being involved in a criminal conspiracy.

The heist lasted only seven minutes. The thieves accessed the museum's galleries through a stolen van used to transport art, and they used saws to break open the armored display cases.
