Government Decides on Tuition Fees for Students Displaced from Artsakh

During a government session, approval was granted for a draft decision to make amendments and additions to decision N 2291-L dated December 21, 2023. According to the decision, first-year students from families forcibly displaced from Artsakh will also receive tuition fee reimbursement for the 2025-2026 academic year. This information was provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport.

Specifically, reimbursement will be provided for approximately 240 students admitted to state higher education institutions (bachelor's, full-time, paid) and around 75 students admitted to vocational and secondary professional educational institutions for the first year in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Students in higher education institutions will receive reimbursement under this decision if they maintain a semester grade point average (GPA) of 75% or higher until the completion of that educational level. Meanwhile, students in vocational and secondary professional educational institutions must achieve 'excellent' and 'good' grades, with at least 50 percent in the previous semester.

Under this regulation, reimbursement has already been provided to families displaced from Artsakh who were enrolled in the paid system of Armenian universities until September 19, 2023, as well as those admitted to the full-time education system of state universities in Armenia for the 2024-2025 academic year.

In total, if the performance threshold is met, around 870 students pursuing higher and postgraduate educational programs will receive tuition reimbursement during the 2025-2026 academic year.
