Leaf Burners Will Be Fined

Burning leaves will result in fines, announced Mesrop Avagyan, head of the Water and Atmosphere Control Division of the Environmental and Nature Resources Inspection Body of Armenia, urging the public to refrain from such actions.

“If the leaves are burned by an individual, the fine amounts to 50,000 drams, while for legal entities, it is 200,000 drams,” Avagyan informed.

He also emphasized that in 2025, 16 cases of leaf burning were recorded, of which administrative violation reports were drafted for 15, holding citizens accountable.

“The inspection body conducts awareness-raising activities in the spring and autumn in collaboration with regional administrations, municipal offices, and educational institutions,” added Mesrop Avagyan, reminding that citizens can report such incidents by calling 119.
