New Restrictions Planned for COVID-19 Prevention, Health Ministry
In an effort to reduce the risk of coronavirus spread in the country, the Ministry of Health is discussing the implementation of additional anti-epidemic regulations. This consideration arises due to the tense epidemiological situation regarding COVID-19 both in European countries and in the Republic of Armenia, as reported by the Ministry of Health of Armenia.
“There has been a continuous increase in COVID-19 cases in the Republic of Armenia, as well as a rise in deaths related to the virus, which is a consequence of the low vaccination coverage among the population against COVID-19. By studying international practices and taking into account suggestions from various organizations and citizens, the discussion includes the potential reduction of the required validity period for a negative PCR test certificate from the current 14 days to 7 days when employees present themselves at the workplace,” stated a message from the ministry.
“After the discussions, the drafts of legal acts will be summarized and presented to interested parties for feedback and suggestions,” the announcement concluded.
