Details of Transit through Azerbaijan to Armenia to be Finalized by Year-End: Russian Railways
Sergey Pavlov, the First Deputy of Russian Railways, stated that the opening of the transit route through Azerbaijan to Armenia creates additional logistics opportunities.
Pavlov noted that the process is still in its early stages, although the first trial shipment has already been carried out. He highlighted that the results have shown the route to be one of the most efficient options for cargo carriers and clients.
Currently, the parties are working to determine which types of cargo can be transported under export, import, and transit formats. “This process is complex and requires certain phases of approval, but it is already in an active phase,” he said.
Pavlov added that a joint discussion held a day ago has taken place, and the final agreement on the details is expected to be completed by the end of the year. According to him, after completion, the categories and volumes of the cargo transported along the route will be clarified.
