Ministry of Health Addresses Smoke from Leaf Burning

Burning dry leaves releases a large amount of harmful substances into the air, posing a risk to health. Leaf burning emits fine particles, smoke gases, and chemical compounds. This information was reported by the Ministry of Health.

"Air pollution causes the following health problems:
• Respiratory difficulties (discomfort when taking deep breaths, coughing, suffocation)
• Exacerbation of cardiovascular issues
• Eye irritation and tearing
• Headaches, fatigue
• In children: bronchitis, asthma exacerbation, attention disorders.
Patients with chronic illnesses are more vulnerable, and smoke from burning leaves can aggravate bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, heart diseases, and allergies.

Never burn leaves and other plant residues; the smoke and harmful particles emitted during burning worsen air pollution and can lead to serious health issues for both you and those around you. By not burning leaves, you protect your health and contribute to clean and safe air," the statement emphasizes.
