Pavel Durov Claims His Annual Income from Telegram is '1 Dirham'
During an interrogation in Paris, Pavel Durov stated that his annual income from Telegram amounts to '1 dirham' (0.24 euros), according to Le Monde. The report indicates that Durov's total wealth is estimated to be between 9 and 15.5 billion dollars.
It was previously reported that Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, made a statement for the first time after his arrest in France. He mentioned that due to the sharp increase in the number of users of the messenger, it has become easier for criminals to exploit the platform, and he promised to combat this phenomenon.
“The sharp increase in Telegram users to 950 million has raised issues that have made it easier for criminals to exploit our platform. This is why I have set my personal goal to significantly improve the situation,” he wrote, adding, “We have already started this process, and very soon I will share more detailed information about our progress with you.”
Durov also called the claims in some media that Telegram is a sort of anarchic paradise as inaccurate. According to him, the messenger's administration removes millions of harmful posts and channels every day.
