Investigation Launched into Under-registrations at HEC

The temporary head of Armenia's electrical networks, Romanos Petrosyan, revealed during a discussion with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that there have been instances of under-registrations of energy produced by autonomous electricity producers at solar plants.

According to Petrosyan, producers were supplying the grid with more electricity than was being calculated and paid for. He noted that state and community organizations were particularly significant contributors to the group that has been subjected to additional registrations.

He also added that arrests have occurred in relation to these facts in recent days. Currently, more than a dozen criminal proceedings have been initiated.

Petrosyan emphasized that in one of the networks, an inspector had been arrested for making an additional registration of over one million kilowatt-hours of electricity from the meter of a community non-commercial organization.
