335,000 People Have Bad Loans in Armenia

The government has allocated nearly 1 billion drams from the Armenian state budget to settle the loan obligations of citizens holding bad loans. This information was provided to NEWS.am, summarizing data received in response to a written inquiry from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

The ministry specifically reported that under the program aimed at "Stimulating the Economic Activity of Individuals with Bad Loans," as of October 23, 2025, 19,136 applications have been registered, of which 6,786 have confirmed statuses in the system.

Furthermore, the Ministry indicated that approximately 985 million drams have been spent on this program from February to October 2025, according to the relevant information repositories. Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Armenia has reported that as of October 2025, the number of individuals with bad loans in Armenia has reached 335,000, with a total loan burden (including principal, accrued interest, and other outstanding obligations) amounting to 673 billion drams.

For comparison, as of October 2024, the number of individuals holding bad loans was around 341,000, with the total loan burden standing at approximately 642 billion drams.
