FFA President's Message on the Passing of Nikita Simonyan

We received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of the legendary coach and football star Nikita Simonyan. This was stated in the condolence message from the President of the Football Federation of Armenia, Armen Melikbekyan.

“For decades, his name has been synonymous with football for us. Nikita Simonyan shone brightly both as a player and coach, marking his name in gold letters in the history of Armenian and Soviet football. Under his leadership, he gifted Armenian fans with the victories of 'Ararat-73', becoming a source of pride for an entire nation.

It is especially admirable that Nikita Simonyan remained involved in the football community until his last days, working tirelessly and dedicating himself to the game, continually demonstrating his incredible humility and resilience of spirit.

Nikita Simonyan's football legacy and personal qualities will remain a lasting example of the highest values in sports and humanity. On behalf of the Football Federation of Armenia and the Armenian football family, I extend my deep condolences to the family, friends, and all those connected to his name and work,” the message reads.
