Cold Air Accumulation Leads to Increased Air Pollution Levels

The Ministry of Environment’s Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports that the presence of an anticyclone in recent days, the cessation of air turbulence, and the absence of wind have contributed to the stagnation of cold air in the Ararat Valley, leading to an increase in air pollution levels.

According to the announcement, there has been a rise in the concentrations of nitrogen and sulfur dioxide, while no significant changes have been recorded in dust levels. It is noted that no significant changes in weather conditions are expected in the next five days. Since the center of the anticyclone will continue to remain over the territory of the republic, a gradual new increase in air pollution is anticipated.
