Chambarak-Ttutjur Fire Continues to Spread: Details

The Environmental Ministry's Eco-Inspection Service reports that on November 21, a fire broke out in the Chambarak-Ttutjur area of Gegharkunik province, spreading on November 23 into the 1st, 2nd, and 4th compartments of the 'Chambarak Forest Enterprise' branch of the State Non-Commercial Organization 'Hayantar'. The fire has burned grassy areas and trees.

Numerous firefighting units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as helicopters, have participated in the firefighting efforts, alongside staff from the Eco-Inspection Service's Kotayk and Gegharkunik provincial departments. Due to the challenging terrain, firefighting operations in some areas have been conducted with individual means.

In certain sections, efforts have succeeded in stopping the fire's spread, but dry and windy weather has hindered complete extinguishment of the blaze. Preliminary reports indicate that certain areas of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th compartments of the Getik Forest Administration have burned, while the fire continues to move towards the 6th compartment of the Dprabaki Forest Administration. Firefighting efforts are ongoing.
