Formerly Proposed Terms for Kyiv Were More Favorable Than Now: Robert Fico

The Slovak government supports the new U.S. proposal regarding Ukraine but has concerns about its potential consequences. This was stated by Prime Minister Robert Fico during a briefing, addressing the initiative currently under discussion.

According to the Prime Minister, if the program is signed, Russia may emerge from the war in a significantly strengthened position, both politically and economically. Fico noted that the peace proposals presented to Kyiv back in 2022 were comparatively more favorable for Ukraine than the terms currently being considered.

He emphasized that Slovakia supports diplomatic avenues, but it is also crucial to assess the long-term effects of any initiative.
