Trump Demands Release of Epstein Documents: New Revelations Involve High-Profile Individuals
The Hill reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a bill demanding the release of documents related to financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to the announcement, he has officially instructed the Department of Justice to open all non-confidential materials and records concerning Epstein.
Financier Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019. The New York State Attorney’s Office stated that between 2002 and 2005, he had brought dozens of underage girls to his Manhattan residence, the youngest of whom was 14 years old. Epstein was surrounded by a number of influential individuals from the U.S. and other countries, including former heads of state, businessmen, and celebrities.
On August 10, 2019, Epstein committed suicide in prison, after which the criminal case was closed. Nonetheless, the incident and documents related to his connections continue to be widely discussed within U.S. society.
