UN Security Council Adopts Resolution on Gaza: US Plans to Be Implemented
Ofelya
The UN Security Council has adopted an American resolution supporting Trump’s peace plan regarding Gaza. Out of the 15 members of the Security Council, 13 voted in favor, while Russia and China abstained.
The American document proposes the establishment of a temporary governance body in the enclave and the creation of international stabilizing forces with a two-year mandate. Earlier, Russia had prepared an alternative draft resolution. The authors of the document hoped to introduce changes to the US framework to align it as closely as possible with the UN’s long-standing approved resolutions and to promote a cessation of violence.
