Suspect in Bank Heist in Yerevan Flees Armenia via Bagratashen Checkpoint
Earlier, it was reported that the police of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, in collaboration with the investigators of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee and the Community Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, identified the individual responsible for a masked and armed robbery at the "VTB" bank branch located at 25 Shinararneri St, Yerevan, on November 17.
As a result of extensive operational and investigative activities, it was determined that the perpetrator was 32-year-old Hovhannes B., a resident of Bashinjaghyan Street in Yerevan, who has a criminal record, including previous convictions for theft. According to shamshyan.com, he left Armenia through the Bagratashen checkpoint shortly after the incident.
Before the law enforcement arrived at the scene, the suspect had managed to steal a significant amount of money from the bank and fled. The stolen amount is reported to be 1 million drams. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident on the grounds of "armed robbery."
